PBB2 - characters and initial map/briefing

 The Map

o.k. Gentlemen, I have completed the map - it is in four sections, and I will be showing section one today.

It is a large picture, so you will need to enlarge it to see it clearly.  If you have a slow internet connection let me know and I will do something to make it smaller than the 2 meg size that it is.

The characters will be set up (at my discretion) in the top left hand corner of the map.

You will see there are faint squares on the map - a character can occupy a single square at a time, and all movement rates will be in squares, not inches.

I couldn't add a grid reference to the map using the program I created it with, so movement orders will either be "move right 2 squares and down 3 squares" or "I move towards the front door via the shortest route".

Not everything is shown on the map - more will be added (like rooms in the house) once characters are close enough to see what is around.

The Characters

Ok, now for the characters:

Misty, played by Brummie:

Karen, played by Vampifan:

Robert, played by Dan:

Von, Vonda or Vonnie (you choose), played by Clint:

Survivor with no name, played by  Zerloon:

And finally (at this stage) we have,

Blink, played by Lord Siwoc:

What I need is: a name for Zerloon's character, and stats for Blink from Lord Siwoc.

The Scenario

This mission is the "First Night" scenario.

The zombie plague has started and complete chaos reigns.  The survivors have gathered in a group and have decided they must occupy a building for the night. They must fortify the building and make sure there are no zombies in the house for the game to end successfully.

Other bits

Players are free to ask any questions before the game starts. They can also discuss the game amongst themselves and work out a plan of attack etc.

Once a player is happy with asking questions and organising a plan of attack, please mention this in the comments so I know every one is set.

Like the last game, players have a week between turns to submit orders before the next turn starts.  If orders come in sooner than one week, and I have the time, I will post the next turn sooner.

I dare say I will remember other things I have forgotten.

Couple of map questions.
How many floors does the building have, that we can see? Can't see a basement floor unless you tell us it's a Georgian section os course.

Is the roof pitched or flat?

What are the dark grey stripes on the Orange (roof)? Could be stairs or a chimmney just going by the pic.

What is the garden boundry? Wall fence, wire mesh. And what is it constructed of, wood, plastc, brick metal?

What is the house constructed from? Wood, pre-cast concrete, brick, stone etc.

Is the building raised in anyway above ground level? (Can Zombies get underneath?

How large are the windows? from the plan they could be any height, from floor to ceiling, to 1 foot tall ventilation shafts.

Is the building/yard well maintained or rundown? Goes to how quickly I expect to find tools suppies etc?

Are there ny pot plants by the door?

Is there an obvious tool shed or similar?

where are we? Austrailia, states, France?

What is the general neighbourhood like|? Trying to estimate population density, social class demographics etc. Gives me a better idea of what I might find both inside and shambling about.

That's it for now... more questions when I think of them.

Itching to get started. Thanks for sorting the game out.

A couple of questions?

>>How many floors does the building have, that we can see? Can't see a basement floor unless you tell us it's a Georgian section os course.

The building has two levels... that you know of.

>>Is the roof pitched or flat?

pitched

>>What are the dark grey stripes on the Orange (roof)? Could be stairs or a chimmney just going by the pic.

it is the floor, and they are stairs up

>> What is the garden boundry? Wall fence, wire mesh. And what is it constructed of, wood, plastc, brick metal?

Wooden picket fence, painted tastefully brown

>> What is the house constructed from? Wood, pre-cast concrete, brick, stone etc.

Stuff zombies can't break down

>>Is the building raised in anyway above ground level? (Can Zombies get underneath?

no..... (mwhahahaha)

>> How large are the windows? from the plan they could be any height, from floor to ceiling, to 1 foot tall ventilation shafts.

Big enough and close enough to the ground that zombies can get in through broken ones

>>Is the building/yard well maintained or rundown? Goes to how quickly I expect to find tools suppies etc?

Well maintained. You would have to search to learn the second part.

>>Are there ny pot plants by the door?

No, but I could put some in if you like :-P

>>Is there an obvious tool shed or similar?

You will find out in time.

>> where are we? Austrailia, states, France?

Hmm I think the states, due to the ease of access to weapons.

>>What is the general neighbourhood like|? Trying to estimate population density, social class demographics etc. Gives me a better idea of what I might find both inside and shambling about.

A typical hollywood type neighbourhood. Lots of people around.

Thanks Shelldrake, just a couple more for now. (hee hee)

What is the grey circle in the top righthand corner on the pavement?

How tall are the shruds in the front yard? Big enough to hide a person (zombie) behind?

Does the car have an obvious car alarm that we can see from here?

Where the stairs go up, is it open undeneath or boarded up?

Is there a chimmney?

Does any of the visable doors have cat/dog flaps?

Does the garden fence have a gate?

More questions to come no doubt whan I think of them. Just asking them now and trying not to assume things. My characters life might depend on it afterall.

But most importantly thank you very much for a swift reply.

Looks great Shelldrake

I wish to nominate Clint as team leader. The group needs someone to be in charge and Clint is asking all the right questions so far.

I really appreciate the vote of confidence Vampifan.

However I am reluctant to lead. Leading such a diverse group would be like herding cats.

I asked the questions mostly because I was first responder. I would like to think any of us would have asked those questions and perhaps a few more as well.

A man hole cover

>>>How tall are the shruds in the front yard? Big enough to hide a person (zombie) behind?

of course hehehe

>>>Does the car have an obvious car alarm that we can see from here?

you can't tell

>>>Where the stairs go up, is it open undeneath or boarded up?

You have to enter the house to find out

>>>Is there a chimmney?

No

>>>Does any of the visable doors have cat/dog flaps?

No

>>>Does the garden fence have a gate?

Not that you can see

>>>Are the visable doors glass paneled or solid wood?

solid... well, it isn't glass
