To buy or not to buy, that is the question

I am in the process of placing an order for some 15mm figures from Khurasan, and I came across an interesting pack of figures that really beg the question: to by or not to buy.

It has even caused me to pause in my shopping to make this post.

Khurasan has some 15mm scale Zombie wolves. I like them, but the dilemma I have is do non-human zombies have a part in our games?

I can see them fitting in with the right background. For instance, rather than have what ever has caused the zombie plague to be able to cross infect species, a mad scientist created two viral strains - one that affects humans, and the other canines.

"Ambush Z" has rules for zombie dogs, but they don't really go in to much detail, so I would have to flesh out the idea to make it work (yes, pun intended).

Anyway, back to the original question - to buy or not to buy?

One pack is $4.99USD for six miniatures, so I would only really need one pack, and I could use them for fantasy games should the need arise.

I might get them and hold them in reserve in case my Aussies need messing with at a later date.

What do you think? Yay or nay?

Well this opens up a can of worms. Some people play with animals not being attacked and eaten, Dawn of the dead for example, while others the zeds will eat everything warm bloodied. I am not sure if they eat lizards and toads for example. So the choice is really yours. Then you have the question if they eat animals can the animals get infected as well. So again that is up to you.

When it comes to spending I do have a simple rules and it is just this "Sleep on it for a couple of days". If after a few days you still want them then buy them and be happy if after a few days you are still not SURE then you just do not want them enough.

I doubt any of that helps but at least you know it was read.

All depends on your setting. IF its Resident Evil themed you can get away with a lot of whacky stuff. I'd say go for it :)

It's a tough call as it's all down to personal preference. I like them and if they made them in 28mm scale I'd definitely buy them. Do you use zombie dogs in your games? If yes, then buy the wolves. If no, then ask yourself how much use would you get out of them?

It all depends what direction you want to have in your games.
My games moved outside of human zombies only and toward pure weird war, but it was more a natural move from scenario outcomes.
If you want to bring diversity to your games, it may be a good purchase.
If your story is similar to Vampifan campaign (human, different zombie humans factions, ...) it may not be necessary.
Take what feels natural in your play style.

Do it, you know you want to!

They look great figures so I say if it's not a financial choice between those and something you definitely need, get them. You will be glad you have figures even if you rarely use them. That's almost one of the guiding principles of the hobby isn't it?!?!? :)

Personally, I would buy them, they can be anything from a random event to just being part of the zombie hordes, cant go wrong in my opinion.

Zombiecide has zombiedogs too. So why not?

A nasty surprise as they are damn fast!

Go for it, its only $5. Besides, there are ranges you can work from. Say whatever's causing the zombies allows them to infect animals, but said animals are 'sterile' (can't pass it on to others of their species). Also, these could just be lab test animals that the gov't kept as a method of trying to create a cure...since people frown on human subjects for science generally.

Of course, what I like most in my ZA is no explanation. IMO, it makes it creepier, especially if it seems to violate logic. ;)

Besides, you could use them as zombie terriers for 28mm!

Personally I don't like having zombie animals in my games, but it's your decision, and they do look like good models. At least as you said you could use them for fantasy style games if you get them and don't decide that they fit your setting
